Re: APPEAL OF DISCIPLINARY DECISION 

On [DATE], I received correspondence stating that I would not be considered for employment at the company because I failed a background check based on technicalities. I was informed that my temporary position would not be affected though. While I appreciate the kind gesture, the decision to never hire me at this company is harsh considering my circumstances.

I was asked to provide a copy of my Associates Degree or a copy of my official transcripts to show that I attained my degree. I am currently enrolled at the University of Maryland Global Campus, studying Human Resource Management. I went to obtain the requested documents from my school but I was informed that a U.S. Associates Degree requires 60 credits. I had 71 credits at the time of beginning my employment at this company, so I figured out I had qualified for a U.S. Associates Degree. I attached my transcripts from the University of Westminister, London which show that I completed 2 out of 3 years required for a degree in the United Kingdom. The credits I got (71) were transferred to the University of Maryland.

I was also asked to provide documents to prove my former employment. I have only been employed once. It was during the onset of the Covid-19 pandemic and the person whom I worked for promised to pay as soon as he was back in business. Unfortunately, I have never been paid. 

I hereby aver that the disciplinary decision made is unfair. The company has not taken steps to verify that I had achieved the required credits or to contact the person who hired me to verify my employment. During my temporary employment, I have been and continue to be an outstanding employee with no issues whatsoever. 

I respectfully request you to review the decision to not hire me again because of my failed background check. I am ready to appear before you, in person or virtually, to provide more information as required.
