My name is ______________ the ______________ in the above-captioned case and I am writing to humbly request the rescheduling of my court date due to an unforeseen work-related situation. I am due to appear before you in court on March 29, 2023 when the matter is meant to come up for ______________.
However, about three weeks ago I was offered a lifetime employment opportunity as the Executive Vice President of Tonerdesk Corp. (“the Company”) which is a company that specializes in manufacturing and marketing of premium toner cartridges for office printers. I am in charge of the Company’s Purchase Department.
In the upcoming next semester order, I have been instructed by my superiors to travel to the Company’s factories in Shenzhen, China to inspect the same and ensure that they ramp up production. This mission was initially supposed to last ten days but unfortunately, I have been allocated more work and as such I will be back in the country by May 15, 2023. Attempts at convincing my superiors to reschedule the mission have borne no fruits and I stand the risk of losing my job should I fail to attend to the same as instructed. This has left me with no option but to humbly seek your indulgence and request that my court date as stated above be rescheduled to a date after May 15, 2023.
My current job is so important to me and my family as it has allowed me after such a long time to provide adequately for my family (my wife and 3 children). I am in no way shape or form downplaying the importance of my attendance in court on the next court date as set earlier and I understand that the Courts operate on such a tight schedule due to the many pending cases. However, due to the nature of the situation that I find myself in as described above I have been constrained to approaching you with this request.
Premised on the foregoing, I hope that you will allow my request to have a new date scheduled that would be more convenient to the Honorable Court and to my work schedule.
