My name is Patrick Nnaemeka Okorie, professionally known as Patoranking. I am an acclaimed reggae-dancehall singer and songwriter. I am writing this letter to testify of the impeccable talent and achievements of Yemi Alade, who is an Afro pop/RnB artiste, song-writer, composer, actress and entertainer.
I have received many awards and nominations. In 2016, I won the Best Dancehall Artist award in the AFRIMA Awards. In 2015, I also won several awards. These include Vodafone Ghana Music Awards’ African Artiste of the Year Award; MTV Africa Music Awards’ Best New Act Award; TooXlusive Online Music Awards’ Best Afropop Song, for my hit song “My Woman My Everything”. In 2015, “My Woman My Everything” was nominated for The Headies’ Best Pop Song of the Year Award. On the same year, my song, “Daniella Whyne”, was also nominated for The Headies’ Best Reggae/Dance hall Single. These just represent a sample of my notable achievements.
I am proud to have worked with Yemi Alade. For instance, I worked with her when I featured in her hit song, “Temptation”. I was highly impressed by her unique skill and unmatched talent. It is worth noting that “Temptation” is one of the songs in her album “Empress”, which reseals Yemi Alade’s stake as the undisputed Afropop Queen, stamping her mark on the genre while growing her sound. Notably, “Empress” is crafted with rich elements of Afro-pop, highlife, soul, coupe decale, gospel, and dancehall to make the listener move with reckless abandon.
Most notably, Yemi Alade has versatility, which makes her stand out. In “Temptation”, she taps into dancehall with me on “Temptation”; on “Weekend”, she delivers smooth R&B alongside Grammy-winning British singer Estelle; and sings gospel with the raved Mzansi Youth Choir on “Rain”. Her outstanding talent has made her get nominated and win several local, regional, and international awards.
I am in no doubt that Yemi Alade’s Afropop culture will be a significant contribution to American Music. Notably, her talent will increase the wealth of the music culture in the United States.
