I am writing this letter as an appeal for my global entry application rejection. My global entry application was denied on eligibility grounds based on two minor traffic tickets that are considered misdemeanors in the state of Georgia.
Despite the two minor traffic tickets being misdemeanors in Georgia, in North Carolina, where I reside and I am licensed to drive, the misdemeanors would have been viewed as minor traffic violations. As stated in the Global entry limitations of gaining global entry, traffic misdemeanors will prevent me from gaining global entry. However, traffic violations will not stop me from gaining entry.
As stated above, the consequences of a traffic misdemeanor are far-reaching compared to those of a traffic violation. Therefore, I implore you to consider my two minor traffic tickets as violations so that I can be granted global entry.
Gaining global entry would be of great value to me since I travel a lot for work, and global entry would expedite my travel experience. In addition, I am a law-abiding citizen of good character and standing in society. Besides, the traffic violations were unfortunate and not an intentional abuse of law. On that particular day, when I committed the said violations, I left my wallet at home. However, I have since paid the fines in full: for driving without a license, I paid $ 1,318.00, and for an expired tag, I paid $ 685.80.
Kindly consider my appeal because if I am a law-abiding citizen, I paid the fines in full, I am committed to complying with all laws and policies, and I travel a lot; hence denial of global entry will cause me great inconvenience as a traveler and as a citizen of the United States.
