Respectfully,

Ref: Request for a Reconsideration of your Decision

As I write this letter, my heart is full of sorrow. I completely feel dejected. I did not expect things to turn out this way. Accordingly, this letter serves as my humble plea for a reconsideration of the decision made by the disciplinary committee to terminate my employment. I have stated herein my side of the story and included all relevant facts to my utmost knowledge and belief.

Background

This is my account of what happened. It all began when Reem Al-Roomi (hereinafter, “Reem”) started experiencing a hard time at work and was crying at some point. On or about June 19, 2021, at 12: 41 am, someone accessed her account and submitted a resignation letter. At 12.42 am, the same person accessed my account and approved the resignation.

Consequently, I was issued a show cause letter by the disciplinary committee on the grounds that I had stolen Reem’s account details, impersonated her and lied to my manager. The hearing was set on or about June 30, 2021. The committee alleged that I had used my computer between 12 am to 6 am and that the IP that was used to tender the resignation matched mine.

Following the hearing, the Committee fired me and gave me until July 31, 2021 to leave the employment. It is worth noting that I received no supporting document for the same.

My argument

It is against the principles of natural justice for one to be condemned unheard. Accordingly, I request that you justly consider my averments herein. I contend that I never submitted the resignation nor approved it as it is alleged. I have sufficient proof that shows I was nowhere near my computer at the time the alleged acts were committed. Therefore, there is no way my IP could match the one that accessed the accounts, when in fact I never accessed the computer at all. This means that you are punishing the wrong person for an offense he did not commit.

I must also note that I was not ready for the hearing since I was fully confident that I am innocent, and I will be proven innocent. Besides, I also find fault with the procedure of the investigation and hearing when my computer was taken one day before the hearing and was never returned to me.

It hurts when an innocent individual is subjected to punishment for a mistake he never did. I do not deserve the punishment meted against me since, as I have alleged above, I did not send the resignation and did not approve it. I must state that your termination of my employment has left me emotionally distressed. It hurts more to know that I am being punished for a mistake I never did.  Besides, I am living in Saudi Arabia and by terminating the contract, I will no longer be eligible to stay in Saudi Arabia, since my stay here is bound to the work contract.

Conclusion

Therefore, I humbly request my case to be reviewed in light of my averments herein.

In the event you settle on the termination, I request you extend the termination date to give me more time to find a job since offices are closed due to Haj holidays.

I am looking forward to your positive response.

Yours sincerely,
