How else can I try to persuade you to provide me my K-1 tax information?
I have repeatedly asked you to provide the said information. I know that you understand, as a businessperson, that I can no longer be sympathetic. I do expect your cooperation.
You should note that your actions have clearly violated both Federal and Florida’s laws. The law provides that each partnership required to file a return for any partnership taxable year shall (on or before the day on which the return for such taxable year was required to be filed), furnish to each person who is a partner or who holds an interest in such partnership … a copy of such information required to be shown on such return as may be required by regulations.
Further, any person who is obligated to provide a payee statement to a partner and fails to do so, shall be liable to pay a penalty of $250 per statement to a maximum of $3,000,000 per year.
Your actions will further deal a heavy blow to the partnership. Every Florida partnership having any partner subject to the Florida Corporate Income Tax Code has an obligation to file K-1 tax information. The law goes further to state that if the partnership failed to file the said returns within the stipulated time, the partnership shall be penalized at $195 multiplied by the number of partners, for a given year.
I am highly uncomfortable with the thought of going to court and, therefore, hope you act accordingly and provide the said information no later than [Enter Date].
If you do not comply with this request within the said timeline, I will be forced to pursue legal action, which would be detrimental to your reputation.
