RE: COMPLAINT AGAINST HARASSMENT
I write on the above reference to complain against the unjust and baseless harassment meted
against me by Supervisor Jeff O’Neal.
On 1 st September 2022, the subject supervisor verbally harassed me about coming in for work at
5.00 a.m and leaving after 7:00 a.m. I calmly tried to explain to the supervisor that my departure
was necessitated by me having to go work on my EOE case. My explanation was met with the
supervisor’s assertions that my explanation was senseless and I would rather have not reported to
work to which I responded that I was aware of colleagues who reported to work for 2 hours
overtime.
Please note that at this point, I was merely trying to explain myself and not in any way
attempting to undermine his authority or engage in confrontation. I was however shocked when
the supervisor, in total disregard of the work environment we were in, and the unnecessary
attention he had drawn by his utterances and demeanor, shouted at me letting me know that he
was only referring to me.
At this point, I was fairly uncomfortable with his demeanor and tone, and I therefore tried to
leave to avoid more confrontation. The supervisor however kept making unkind remarks, I tried
to persuade him to calm down to allow room for a diplomatic conversation; I asked if we could
talk outside and resolve the issue without distracting my colleagues. I talked to him about being
moved back to 3:30 P.M. to 12:00 A.M shift.
I would like to note that this is the second time that the subject supervisor has acted unfairly
towards me, the first time was on 20 th August 2022 on the issue of not logging on with a card
when there was lack of communication with another supervisor and me receiving a bad
appraisal. I would like to avoid further confrontations/ misunderstandings and I would
appreciate your assistance in returning back to swing shift.
