RE: CEASE AND DESIST DEMAND
It has come to my attention that you have been taking personal property in the form of chattels from the house of the late Ms. [GRANDMOTHER’S FULL NAME]. The chattels have been taken away without any inventory of what has been taken and what has been left. There is malicious intent in your actions since you are aware that Ms. [GRANDMOTHER’S FULL NAME]’s property should be equally divided among her four children. Your actions are unfair since Ms. [YOUR MOTHER’S FULL NAME] will not have an opportunity to know the total value of the chattels, subsequently not knowing the exact value of her share of the property.
I hereby demand that you cease and desist from taking more property from Ms. [GRANDMOTHER’S FULL NAME]’s house. I also demand that you return all property that you’ve taken from Ms. [GRANDMOTHER’S FULL NAME]’s house so that we can make an inventory of all the property for equal division of the property among Ms. [GRANDMOTHER’S FULL NAME]’s children. I further demand that you desist from leaving the State of Delaware until an inventory of everything in Ms. [GRANDMOTHER’S FULL NAME] is made.
This letter will act as a final warning to cease and desist from taking property from the late Ms. [GRANDMOTHER’S FULL NAME]; to return all property you’ve taken from Ms. [GRANDMOTHER’S FULL NAME]; and to refrain from leaving the State of Delaware until an inventory has been completed. At this time, I am not contacting the authorities or filing a civil suit against you, as I hope we can resolve this matter without authoritative involvement. I am not under any circumstances, however, waiving any legal rights I have presently, or future legal remedies against you by sending you this letter. Failure to comply with this Notice to Cease and Desist will lead to legal sanctions under applicable Federal and State law.
I intend to keep a log of any communication you make with me after you receive this letter. Please give this very important matter the utmost attention.
